CAN YOU HELP ME WALK AGAIN
CROSSRO@DS has been helping CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh)’s Project 11, which aims to collect 15 million ring tabs by mid November 2011. To date our staff and volunteers have collected about 25,000 ring tabs and have already donated this 1st batch to the school.
We encourage you to join us in this worthy cause to give a physically challenged person an artificial limb. The ring tabs will be donated to the Prostheses Foundation of HRH The Princess Mother in Thailand, which provides FREE artificial limbs for needy amputees. 15 million ring tabs can be used to produce 10,000 prosthetic legs.
Lets do our part to recycle and help needy amputees. CROSSRO@DS will collect your washed and dry ring tabs on 13 November from 2 MRT locations-Bt Batok and Outram Park MRT. Do email Wendy at crossroads.life@gmail.com for collection details by 11 November.
As for those of you who wish to get a FREE artificial limb, ps contact the Prostheses Foundation directly. We wish you all the best.
Hi Jackie and everyone who wants to donate the can tabs,
I have just heard from Deyi’s teacher-in-charge that they have stop this project. I was training their students in Service Learning last year and this year I am advertising and collecting the can tabs for them as a volunteer.
I will be contacting the foundation and if they have a contact in Singapore who can bring the can tabs up, I’ll post the information in this blog and also email those who have been in contact with me.
I’m on maternity leave from now till next year end of Jan…giving birth soon…so ps understand if I am unable to reply for sometime.
Thank you for your participation and I hope we can find a way to send the donated can tabs…CROSSRO@DS volunteers are still collecting the tabs.
Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and keep the volunteering spirit alive. God bless!
Wendy
